When Thomas Lincoln was born on 6 January 1778, in Rockingham, Virginia, his father, Captain Abraham Lincoln, was 33 and his mother, Bathsheba Herring, was 36. He married Nancy Hanks on 12 June 1806, in Washington, Kentucky. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 1 daughter. He lived in Macon, Illinois in 1830 and Coles, Illinois for about 10 years. He died on 17 January 1851, in Mattoon, Illinois at the age of 73, and was buried in Pleasant Grove Township, Illinois.
